To our surprise we found only five litter lifters waiting in front of the building. We
took their photo, then they were joined by a half dozen folks from the 75 Wynford condos
who were also shot, and litter lifting began. |

As it turned out, we had apparently been pre-empted by M&R staff who did a cleanup the
day before, so there was less to pick up than expected. All the same, lots of litter
was lifted, as seen in the photos below. |

There was some disagreement as to which items are recyclable, suggesting that it is
difficult to keep abreast of ever changing recycling rules. When it came time to put the recyclable litter in the bins, the bins with open lids were full. |

The lids of the open bins were therefore closed (except for one that could not be reached)
and the lids of empty bins were opened to accommodate more recycling. This makes one wonder if it would not be more successful to open all the lids after the bins have been emptied and close lids as their bins become full. |
